High Cotton Charleston Restaurant Reviews

We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience including impeccable service and delicious food! Being from out of town, we wanted the taste of Charleston and High Cotton delivered. We enjoyed the beet salad and she crab soup as starters and then had the catch of the day and shrimp and grits. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were treated to glasses of champagne! There was awesome live music in the bar which we could hear from our table but also could carry on a conversation.

Great atmosphere, friendly waiters. Food was hot fresh and on time. She crab soup here is a must try, same with the scallops. Delicious. Came here for an anniversary and were welcomed so kindly, I love it. Also brought champagne for our table, it was so sweet!

We went for a few Espresso Martinis, but stayed for fantastic dinner!! The service and quality of food here is amazing. Everything we tasted was unbelievably good, all the seafood was fresh and prepared perfectly. It’s pricey, but I have no problem paying the check and tipping big for this level of service and food!! Will be back next time in Charleston!!

Great food, great ambiance, staff was very attentive! Price was mostly appropriate. Got the steak and eggs, steak was cooked perfectly. Got the spicy bloody mary which wasn’t burn your face off spicy, so the right amount. Girlfriend got the cinnamon bun which was insanely sweet and doughy. Oysters were a bit expensive so I skipped but they did look good.

They also had live music at 1030 in the morning which was great.

Overall I would go back, and the food was excellent!

The experience was awesome from arrival to exit. Amazing service and experience. Excellent food and atmosphere. Absolutely a must eat at in Charleston! It was my birthday they went above and beyond to recognize that and make me feel extra special as well.

The food was delicious and restaurant is located in heart of downtown Charleston! We ordered the crab cake Benedict and French toast which was the perfect meal for a Sunday brunch. Staff was exceptionally friendly and personable. We will definitely be back the next time we stop by Charleston!

My husband and I had such a fantastic experience and dinner here tonight. We were lucky to get a last minute reservation. We sampled a few things, which is our favorite part of going out!

I had the she crab soup, which is a Charleston specialty. It was everything i hoped it would be. Light, even though its a cream base, sweet and delicious. We also sampled two different types of oysters from Prince Edwad Island. The New Zealand Wagyu carpaccio was delicious. Finally we rounded out the apps with a ceasar salad that had a fresh new take. See if you can guess the fresh herb. I did!

For the entrees we kept it simple. Perfectly seared scallops and shrimp and grits. The food was delicious. My husband and I just kept smiling. It seems that so many restaurants aren’t good anymore. So when you find one where everything felt perfect…it’s almost magical. Even the staff. Professional waiters. That’s so rare anymore. Our waiter Adam was great. I hope we get the chance to return before our vacation ends. Thanks for a memorable evening!

Absolutely one of the best fine dining restaurants in Charleston. Our family of five dined there for a high school graduation celebration and the staff went above and beyond to make her feel special and helped us celebrate with complimentary champagne for the adults and non alcoholic fancy juice for the young adults to toast with! The food was amazing. We all enjoyed our starters and entrees. Dessert was also wonderful !!! As a local, this will now be one of our new favorites for special occasions. ❤️

Absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we walked in to the time we left, 5 star all the way. Derrick was an excellent server. Chicken and waffles and morning veggie strata was delicious. Don’t leave without trying the pimento grits, so unique and tasty.

Good food and atmosphere!
We enjoyed beignets, chicken waffles and eggs Benedict with sweet potatoes. The beignets were excellent, the brunch was good as well but the waffle as well as the English muffin were a bit burned and a bit harder to chew.
The staff was very nice and the live music was very good. Enjoyed the experience, but the bread and waffles need to be less burned next time. The option of having rosemary potatoes with eggs Benedict would also be a nice addition to bring out the flavors just a bit more. Other than that we enjoyed our experience!
