Who betrayed Fezco?

In the popular TV show Euphoria, one of the most mysterious storylines involves the character Fezco and who may have betrayed him. Fezco, played by Angus Cloud, is a drug dealer who starts dating Lexi Howard in season 2. However, in the season 1 finale, Fezco ends up getting arrested after the police raid his home.

How did Fezco get arrested?

In the season 1 finale episode, Fezco is first shown getting confronted by Nate Jacobs, who warns him to stay away from Rue Bennett. Nate had just found out that Rue stole drugs from him, and he suspects Fezco is her supplier.

Later that night, a large group of armed police officers show up at Fezco’s home and start breaking down the door. Fezco desperately tries to flush his drug stash down the toilet but is unsuccessful. The police bust in and arrest him after finding drugs, cash, and guns all over the house.

Fezco is completely shocked by the sudden raid, having no idea how the police knew to target him and his operation. The betrayal and timing seem too convenient to be a coincidence.

Who could have ratted out Fezco?

There are a few different characters who may have tipped off the police about Fezco’s drug operation:

  • Nate Jacobs – He knew Fezco was supplying Rue with drugs and had just threatened him earlier that day.
  • Mouse – Fezco’s dangerous supplier who he ripped off earlier in the season.
  • Rue Bennett – She was desperate for drugs and may have turned on Fezco.
  • The rehab clinic – They could have reported him after finding out he was Rue’s dealer.

However, the most likely suspect seems to be Nate Jacobs.

Why Nate Jacobs was the probable snitch

Here are some of the key reasons why Nate appears to be the one who betrayed Fezco:

  • Motive – Nate wanted to get revenge on Fezco for supplying Rue with drugs.
  • Means – Nate’s dad is a police officer who could have helped organize the raid.
  • Opportunity – He had confronted Fez earlier that same day.
  • Personality – Nate has a history of being calculating, unhinged, and vengeful.

The timing of the raid just doesn’t seem like a coincidence after Nate threatened Fez. Nate has the connections through his dad to set up a police operation. He has all the right motives and personality traits of someone who would rat out Fezco.

Was Mouse actually the snitch?

Another potential suspect is Mouse, who was Fezco’s dangerous drug supplier. Earlier in season 1, Fezco had ripped off Mouse and taken a big bag of drugs without paying him back.

This could have motivated Mouse to get revenge by reporting Fezco to the police. However, the biggest counterargument is that Mouse ended up getting killed later in season 1. So unless he tipped off the cops right before his death, it doesn’t seem like Mouse was the one who betrayed Fez.

Could it have been Rue who backstabbed Fezco?

Rue Bennett also can’t be ruled out as the snitch. She was desperately addicted to drugs and Fezco refused to give her any more. Rue was spiraling out of control and may have impulsively betrayed Fezco in order to try and save herself from rehab.

However, Rue had shown loyalty to Fez in other ways earlier in the season. And she was genuinely shocked when she found out Fez had been arrested. So while it’s possible, it doesn’t seem super likely that Rue would have turned on Fezco like that.

Was the rehab facility involved?

After Rue’s mom found out she was back on drugs, Rue got sent to a rehab facility. It’s possible someone there could have gotten information out of Rue about Fezco being her dealer, and then contacted the police.

But again, the timing doesn’t line up super well. And there isn’t a strong motive for why the rehab clinic would take down Fezco like that. So while it can’t be definitively ruled out, they seem like an unlikely culprit.

Putting together all the evidence

Looking at all the evidence, Nate Jacobs still appears to be the most probable person who betrayed Fezco and led to his arrest:

Suspect Motive Means Opportunity
Nate Jacobs Revenge against Fezco Police connections through dad Confronted Fezco earlier that day
Mouse Revenge for rip-off Criminal connections Unlikely – Mouse died later
Rue Bennett Desperate for drugs Knew Fezco’s operation Shown previous loyalty to Fezco
Rehab clinic Get justice for Rue Could contact police Timing doesn’t line up well

Nate had the strongest motive and means to betray Fezco, as well as the opportunity to do it shortly before the raid happened. While not confirmed, the circumstantial evidence strongly points to Nate as the rat.

Conclusion

Even though it was never explicitly revealed, the character who most likely betrayed Fezco leading to his arrest was Nate Jacobs. Nate had just confronted Fezco about selling drugs to Rue Bennett earlier in the day. He also had connections to the police through his dad. And getting revenge on those who cross him is a clear pattern with Nate’s unhinged personality.

Other characters like Mouse, Rue, or the rehab clinic had motives as well. But the timing and circumstances align most clearly with Nate tipping off the police about Fezco’s drug operation. Until proven otherwise, he remains the prime suspect for backstabbing Fezco and causing his downfall.
